C1008310 – PCV Pipe Heater Wiring – 2012-2016 Mitsubishi Fuso

SUMMARY:

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 FEC52, FEC72, FEC92 trucks manufactured February 4, 2011, to March 31, 2015, and 2012-2015 FGB72 trucks manufactured June 22, 2011, to April 8, 2014.

The affected vehicles are equipped with an optional cold weather PCV heater kit.

In these vehicles, the PCV pipe heater wiring may chafe on a metal clamp possibly resulting in the wire short circuiting.

 

CONSEQUENCE:

A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

 

REMEDY:

MFTA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the PCV pipe heater, free of charge.

The recall began on April 6, 2016.
