Mitsubishi
Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling certain Mitsubishi
Fuso FEC52, FEC72, FEC92, and FGB7 vehicles. The rocker arms may have been manufactured incorrectly and may break as a result.
Remedy
MFTA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rocker arms. While disassembled, the engine will be inspected and any damage will be remedied. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2019. Owners may contact MFTA customer service at 1-877-711-0707.

A list of vehicles your Dealership has sold that require this Recall can be found on the Dealer’s “Open Campaigns” list supplied by MFTA via Fusonet. Some individual vehicles described above may not need the Recall as the repairs may have already been performed. Always check the “VIN Inquiry” tab under “Service” or “Warranty” on Fusonet to verify that the VIN requires this Safety Recall.
Important note: It is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to deliver a new or used motor vehicle covered by this Recall Information Bulletin, under a sale or lease, until the Safety Recall has been completed.

Fuso Truck of America, Inc. has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in the rocker arms on certain 2017 model year FEC52, FEC72, FEC92, and FGB72 Mitsubishi
Fuso trucks. On certain affected vehicles, the rocker arms were manufactured incorrectly, due to improper maintenance on a tool used in the production process.
MODIFICATION:
The rocker arms will be replaced with improved components, and the engine will be inspected for damage. Any damage resulting from a defective rocker arm will be repaired with assistance from MFTA’s Technical Support Center (TSC).

The replacement parts are available through normal parts channels. Please be sure to only order what is needed to perform recalls in your area of responsibility, as recall parts are non-returnable.

Note: A front seal installation tool # MH064909 has been shipped to each dealer to properly seat the new style (Engine serial # 4P10-C60011 and up) QC000659 seal.
RECALL CLAIM SUBMITTAL:
Reimbursement claims are filed through FALCON using the Field Fix claim type. Enter all requested information. The system will automatically apply the labor allowance and recall part. Please note that the correct front crankshaft seal must be entered in the OEM parts section of the Field Fix claim during reimbursement submission.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
- Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, turn off the engine and chock the wheels. CAUTION!
Do not remove the wheel chocks until all modification work has been completed.
- Replace the rocker arms using instructions found in the 00ELT0114 Service Manual.
- Inspect each rocker arm during removal. If any abnormal wear is discovered, take a photograph of the wear and create a Technical Assistance Request (TAR). Upload the photo(s) to the TAR and work with the TSC to further diagnose and repair possible engine related damage.
- After reassembly, confirm that there are no leaks and perform a confirmation road test.

Fuso Truck of America, Inc. has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in the rocker arms on certain 2017 model year FEC52, FEC72, FEC92, and FGB72 Mitsubishi
Fuso trucks. On certain affected vehicles, the rocker arms were manufactured incorrectly, due to improper maintenance on a tool used in the production process. If the vehicle continues to be operated in this condition, the rocker arms may wear prematurely and make noise. In worst case, rocker arms could break and the engine could stall. If the engine stalls with the truck in motion, a crash could occur.
