SUBJECT:
STEERING COLUMN NOISE WHEN TURNING | No: TSB-05-54-007 |
DATE: September, 2005 | |
MODEL: See below |
PURPOSE
The steering cancel cam on some affected vehicles may not be completely depressed by the steering wheel. As a result, when the steering wheel is turned, the cancel cam tabs may contact the steering column inner housing, creating a rubbing or clicking noise. Install a washer between the steering column and the switch mounting screw as described in this bulletin. The washer will change the position of the cancel cam, and eliminate the noise.
